Introduction to flexible circuit board manufacturing methods
Flexible circuit board, also known as “soft board”, is a printed circuit board made of the flexible insulating substrate. Or it can be said that it is made of polyimide or polyester film.
The flexible circuit board is characterized by high wiring density, lightweight and thin thickness. It can provide excellent electrical performance and meet the design needs of smaller and higher density installations. Help reduce assembly processes and enhance reliability.
The flexible circuit board is the only solution to meet the miniaturization and movement requirements of electronic products. It can be freely bent, wound, folded, can withstand millions of dynamic bending without damaging the wire, can be arbitrarily arranged according to the spatial layout requirements, and can be arbitrarily moved and expanded in three-dimensional space to achieve component assembly and wire connection.
A flexible PCB manufacturer is pre-processed to the final shipment. Every procedure must be implemented rigorously. In the flexible PCB manufacturing process, in order to prevent excessive short circuits, the product excellent rate is too low; and to prevent the problems caused by drilling, rolling, cutting, etc., the flexible circuit board is scrapped, supplemented materials, etc.
Prenatal pretreatment in the Flexible PCB manufacturing process is especially important for the selection of materials that are optimal for customer use. The pre-treatment of the flexible PCB manufacturing process is mainly to deal with three aspects.
The first is the flexible PCB manufacture engineering evaluation, which is mainly to evaluate whether the customer’s Flexible circuit board can be produced during the Flexible PCB manufacturing process. Whether the company’s production capacity can meet the customer’s board requirements and unit cost; if the Flexible PCB manufacture project is approved, The next step is to prepare the materials immediately to meet the raw material supply of each stage of Flexible PCB manufacture. Finally, the engineer processes the CAD drawings and Gerber line data of the customer to suit the production environment and production specifications of the Flexible PCB manufacturing equipment. All three processes need to be completed by engineers. After that, the production drawings and MI (Engineering Process Card) and other materials will be released to the production department, the document control, procurement, and other departments to enter the regular production process.
